A) Located about 70 miles from the city of Krakow, Poland is a place of unspeakable horror! Above the entrance to this infamous place is a chilling sign with the following words in German: "Arbeit Macht Frei" .

Fly to these coordinates 50.027606°N 19.203088°E to arrive at the entrance gate and get a screen shot of the gate at street view for your travel journal. This is only a graphic so you may want to grab a copy of an actual photo using Panoramio as well. Then exit Ground Level View.
Zoom out until you can see this entire compound. Use your mouse to hover over different buildings until you find one labeled "Crematorium and Chimney" (be sure you have the 360 cities layer turned ON -under the "Photos" layer--this layer icon looks like a red square)! B) Let's visit the house of one of the most famous victims of the Holocaust. Fly to Anne Frank's house to learn how one brave teenager outsmarted the Nazi's for a while. Once there, please answer the following questions:
What country and city are you in and What is the exact address of this house? Find a Panoramio photo of this house and get a copy for your Travel Journal
This city is known for it's canal system and waterways. What is the name of the waterway directly in front of the house? (Hint: Turn off the "Photos" layer and zoom out until you see the name appear. Make sure your Local Place Names layer (under "More" is turned on. Get an aerial screen shot in Google Earth of the house and the waterway.
Go to this website: Anne Frank House Virtual Tour Then using the navigation tabs at the top of the website, click on the "Who is Who" And/OR "The Outcome" tabs and watch at least 3 short videos to learn about the those who hid in this house. Make sure to plug in some headphones (from Ms. Frachetti) to listen to the videos/podcasts! Record at least 3 interesting facts you learn in your Travel log notes.
Now, click on the tab "Explore the 3D house" of Anne Frank and get a screen shot of at least 2 rooms in the hiding place for your travel journal. Paste these into Paint.net and add a text box and arrow to explain what they are.
C)So many people ask "Why didn't the Jews fight back during the Holocaust"? Actually, they did! During the evacuation of the Jews to the extermination camps, there was a valiant effort to stop the trains moving the Jews from their homes to the camps. History remembers this as The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

Visit Oskar Scheduler’s factory (now a museum) and take a screenshot of the artifact that sites opposite his desk and explain the significance of the artifact.
Fly to the Oskar Schindler Museum in Krakow, Poland and include a street level view of the factory for your tour.
